Service Foods Earns Better Business Bureau Torch Award
The annual award, which honors companies who are leaders in marketplace trust, recognizes Service Foods for its commitment to community service.
ATLANTA, June 22—Service Foods, a leading provider of all-natural foods for home delivery, is proud to announce that it has been honored with a Torch Award for Community Service by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Metro Atlanta, Athens and Northeast Georgia.
The Torch Award honors companies who are leaders in marketplace trust. Each Torch Award winner embodies BBB’s vision of an ethical marketplace where buyers and sellers trust each other. Torch Award recipients value honesty, respect, integrity and transparency in daily business transactions. The annual awards luncheon was held at Villa Christina in Atlanta, where the 2011 Torch Award winners and first runner-ups were announced. John Sours, administrator for the Governor’s Office of Consumer Protection, was the keynote speaker.
Twenty-nine companies of excellence competed in three categories: Marketplace Ethics, Customer Service and Community Service. Categories were based on the number of employees, and winners were chosen from a panel of three judges who are experts in the field of ethics. Service Foods was honored as the first runner-up in the Community Service category.
Service Foods and its employees have long been dedicated to serving the local community and educating citizens on the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. The company’s dietitians, nurses, doctors, dentists and fitness experts frequently participate in health fairs and fitness challenges, including the College Park Healthy City initiative and the Get Body Beautiful contest. Additionally, Service Foods has also pledged support for several metro Atlanta American Diabetes Association programs, including the Tour de Cure cycling event and the Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes.
“The Torch Award is a testament to the values and integrity that drives Service Foods to make a difference in our community and beyond,” said company CEO Dr. Keith Kantor. “We’re committed improving the health and wellness of our local residents, as well as the nation as a whole.” Service Foods has been a BBB accredited business since 1981 and has a rating of A+, the highest rating from the organization. Past BBB Torch Award winners include Amazon.com, Verizon Wireless, Target Corporation and Kraft Foods.
